Nakshatrangale Kaval, scripted by P Padmarajan, and directed by K S Sethumadhavan is to be remade in Malayalam. The film that was released in 1976 was not a commercial success. The makers of the remake claim that they are not aiming at box office success as well. The remake would be directed by Deepan, who had directed Puthiya Mukham. The film would be jointly scripted by Padmarajans son Ananthapadmanabhan and Babu Janardhanan. Anoop Menon would play the major role in the film. Meera Jasmine and Priyamani would be the heroines. Jagathy Sreekumar would also be seen in a key role. The shoot of the film would start by September.
