Thilakan strikes on Facebook

Thilakan is in popular social networking website Facebook! The account is created and managed by Thilakan fans in a bid to support their favourite actor who has been banned by AMMA and FEFKA. In its disclosure, the page says: This is not the official page of actor Thilakan and is not connected with him in any way. This is created by a core Thilakan fan and fellow fans are welcome. Envyists, narcissists, i.e. AMMA, FEFKA stay away. Only Thilakan-ists stay here.

Thilakan is back

After his expulsion from AMMA, veteran actor Thilakan has been maintaining a low profile for the last few months with only one movie Achan (directed by Ali Akbar) to his credit! But, it seems things are going to change a bit. According to sources, the actor has bagged the powerful role of a freedom fighter in a film to be directed by Vinayan. Notably, the whole controversy regarding Thilakan started with his participation in Yakshiyum Njanum by Vinayan, who has always had an axe to grind with AMMA. Though Thilakan had earlier acted as a freedom fighter in Gandhian, it is learnt that Vinayans new untitled film would be very different from Thilakans earlier role in Gandhian

Endhiran shifted to September

Superstar Rajinikanths much-awaited fantasy flick Endhiran (Robot), being directed by Shankar with Aishwarya Rai as the heroine, was expected to grace screens on September 3. But according to latest reports, the film has been postponed to September 24 because of last minute patchworks. Endhiran has 1500 graphical shots a record in Indian cinema. After the release of Endhiran, Rajinikanth may take a break and then commence the works of his daughter Soundaryas animation film Sultan - The Warrior, which has been in the making for the last couple of years

\"Iam a diehard fan of Vijay\" : Namitha

Namitha is becoming a huge fan of Ilayathalapathy Vijay. And this probably explains why she was gung ho about flagging off a reality show on a television channel, whose winners get to have dinner with Vijay himself! Looking fabulous in a sea-green dress, the actress was in high spirits throughout and mingled freely with everyone present on the occasion. Well, given that Namithas already grooved to a sexy number Nee Marilyn Monroe cloninga... with Vijay in his Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, her enthusiasm to be associated with the actor is quite evident. Call it the karmic effect! Meanwhile, Namis busy shooting for Ilaignan, which happens to be Suresh Krissnas 50th film. The film is based on a novel written by Kalaignar Karunanidhi

Vikram join hands with Vijay

He might still be soaking in the compliments he has been receiving for his last film Madrassapattinam, but director Vijay has already started work on his next film, which has actor Vikram in the lead. Vijay says animatedly, Things just happened all of a sudden. Im extremely happy that Vikram has agreed to play the lead in my next film. He will sign the papers soon and will make an official announcement by the end of this month. I dont believe in repeating a genre. So, the audience can expect a film in a completely new style. Vikram is such an enthusiastic actor and this film will definitely be a family entertainer. However, the rest of the cast and crew hasnt been decided yet. Im giving the script a finishing touch and after finalising the details, the film will go on floor next month. I want to start this film as soon as possible, he adds. Meanwhile, Vijay had made a fleeting visit to Mumbai to discuss his Bollywood venture. I met the heads of a topnotch production house and gave them my script. They liked it very much and are now in talks with actors to play the lead. As soon as the cast is ready, I will start shooting for my Bollywood debut as well, he reveals. Interestingly, Vikram is supposed to begin work on Boopathi Pandians Vedi and also a Malayalam film with Roshan Andrews. But, industry sources say that Vikram will start shooting for Vijays film first. However, Vijay maintains, Im not an authority to comment on what Vikrams priorities are. But Im glad hes agreed to do my film.

BigB to Noble Prize Winner

Amitabh Bachchan has agreed to play the role of Noble Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore, sources say. The film, which is to be made in Malayalam, is set to begin soon. Recently, the actor has been showing keen interest in starring in South Indian films and it would not be surprising if we get to see him do more Tamil films. Big B has already completed shooting for the multilingual film Kandahar, which also has Superstar Mohanlal. This film will be released soon, it is expected.

Suresh Gopi spoke about Thilakan ban

Suresh Gopi, while batting for thespian Thilakan who has been ousted from an actors association for indiscipline, said Sunday that denying anyone the right to work was unfortunate. Thilakan has been dismissed from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) for alleging that a section of actors was conspiring against him. On account of the ban, it has become extremely difficult for the 74-year-old veteran actor to get new films. He has a family which includes even grandchildren and it is the fundamental right of everyone to work and if that is being denied then it is unfortunate, said Gopi. But at the same time there is a code of conduct for everyone in an organization and if there is violation, then action will be taken, he added. Gopi was interacting with the media after a screening of his latest release Rama Ravanan, which is a film made from the story Manomi, a work of Kamala Surayya alias Madhavikutty. Gopi said that it was way back in 2003 that at a function Madhavikutty told him that she wants him to act in the lead role of the story from Manomi, if ever a film is made. The story revolves around a Sri Lankan girl Manomi, who falls in love with a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) extremist Thiruchelvam (played by Gopi). She told me that I look like the main character in the story Thiruchelvam. She later said that I resemble don Dawood Ibrahim also, he said. I am very happy that I have done the lead role and now I wish to find out from the audience, if my selection of roles is right or wrong. Of late there has been a talk about my selection, said Gopi.

Fourth sequel for \"Oru CBI Dairy Kurippu\" on discussion

It was a thriller made way back in 1988 starring Malayalam superstar Mammootty. Now Oru CBI Dairy Kurippu director K. Madhu is working on its fourth sequel. In a chat, Madhu said scripting work is going on and the film would be released next year. To the best of my knowledge this is certainly unique, with not a single film going into four sequels. And mind you, each of the earlier released films were superhits, said Madhu. The first sequel was Jagratha in 1989 , Sethurama Iyer CBI in 2004 and Nerariyan CBI in 2005. Another uniqueness of this film is that the director, scriptwriter (S.N. Swamy), music (Shyam) and leader actor Mammootty have been the same in all the four films and will continue in the fifth one as well, pointed out Madhu. Each of the films saw Mammootty playing the role of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer who along with his team solves a crime when the local police fails. This time also the plot is the same but the name of the film is not ready. By all means viewers will certainly not be let down and can expect another thriller, said Madhu who made his directorial debut in 1986 and so far has done 28 films.

Roshan Andrews is considered as one of the most promising filmmakers in Malayalam cinema and is known for his realistic portrayals of characters. If reports are to be believed, the ace Malayalam director met Chiyaan Vikram in Chennai recently and had narrated the script to the star. Needless to say, Vikram was quite impressed. According to reports, Vikram was bowled over by the script and story narration, and instantly agreed to do the film sometime next year, after he completed his current projects in Tamil. Meanwhile, Roshan Andrews is also busy completing Casanova, a big-budget, romantic action thriller starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, and another project which might have Prithviraj in the lead. Looks like after testing waters in Bollywood, Chiyaan Vikram is all set to explore the waters in Gods Own Country too!
