\"There is no ban for Thilakan in my films\": Shaji N Karun

Renowned director Shaji N Karun said on Monday that if there was a role that suited Thilakan in his film, he would offer the role to the actor irrespective of who opposed it. If associations or technicians opposed his decision in this regard, it would be truly tragic. Shaji was talking at the press meet organized by the Kottayam Press Club. An artiste is public property and he is above all associations. And every association should realize goodness. Shaji said that the treatment meted out to Thilakan by the association was not right. An individual has often set right groups, and it has never been the other way round, Shaji pointed out. If Thilakan is not given an opportunity to act in films, it would be a loss to the film audience. Shaji also hoped that the questions that Thilakan has raised would lead to a cleansing process in the film industry. When asked about his latest film Kutti Sranku that had Mammootty in the lead, Shaji said that the film was getting readied for release in Kerala. The pre-production works of his next film Kadal that would have Mohanlal as its hero is also on
