\"Viewers likes to see me as a layman\": Jayaram

Jayaram, who is currently riding high on the success of his latest film Happy Husbands, says he has never tried to assume a demigod image, since he knows that the audience wouldnt accept him in such a role. In an interview given to a prominent weekly, the actor said that the viewers have always preferred to see him in the role of a layman. Probably as a result of this, wherever he goes for shooting, the people treat him as a member of their own family. They never treat him as Jayaram, the actor. Its very difficult to create a family audience. On second thoughts, we create nothing; everything has been gifted by God, Jayaram said. Jayaram also said that it was futile to be disappointed at not getting any major awards. The awards are decided by members of a jury. The recognition that is granted by the cinema lovers of the state is much greater than any award. Jayaram would be seen in two projects shortly. The first of these would be Makeup Man to be directed by Shafi. Saji Surendran is meanwhile busy with the pre-production work of Ulakam Chuttum Valibans in which Jayaram would do the lead role. Jayaram would also be seen along with Khushboo in a Tamil period film that has been written by Chief Minister Karunanidh
