Nayanthara - Mammootty pair again

Nayantara has bagged a role in the sequel of Mammootty starrer award winning Malayalam movie Mathilukal. The sequel, which again stars megastar Mammootty, is titled Mathilukalkkappruam. Interestingly, the role to be played her was supposed to be essayed by Bollywood actress Vidya Balan. However, now Nayantara has replaced her. The original film was directed by national award winning film director Adoor Gopalakrishnan in 1989. The sequel of the movie will be directed by debutante Prasad and the story will continue with the story of Basheer from where Adoor left. The role of that unseen woman prisoner will be played by Nayantara. The voice of that unseen woman in the original film on the other side of the prison wall was given by K.P.A.C. Lalitha. The role of Basheer will be again essayed by Mammootty. The lead actors of the movie are likely to have some best of the moments in Malayalam cinema. Mammoottys production company Playhouse will be producing the film, which is going to start shooting very soon. Ravi K. Chandran will be handling the camera and the sound department will be handled by Oscar winner Resul Pookutty
