It seems to be raining sequels in Malluwood. The latest sequel being planned is the one to August 1, the hit crime thriller that had Mammootty playing Perumal, the hotshot cop. It should be remembered that August 1 was a film that was quite different from the films that Siby Malayil had done till then. The script of the film was by S N Swami. Its also rumoured that Siby might not direct the sequel. Another young director might step in, instead. August 1 was released back in 1988, and was a runaway hit. The shoot of the sequel is expected to start early next year.
