Thilakan said that he was planning to apply for a gun license immediately. This was in view of the attack against director Ali Akbars car. Thilakan said that those who were with him were being attacked. Its only natural that he fears that there might be attacks against him too. The actor also alleged that Ali Akbar was attacked because he had decided to direct the film Achan with Thilakan in the lead. A group of unknown assailants had earlier in the morning pelted stones at director Ali Akbars car that was parked at his residence. The car was smashed in the attack.
